| Description | Grant file containing correspondence, minutes, agendas, accounts and funding requests relating to Art Link West Midlands (ALWM). Funding source(s): Minority Arts Programme. Applicant overview: ALWM became a registered charity in 1984. ALWM is a body which is partly funded by the Arts Council and local authorities to bring the arts in different ways, both performing and visual arts, to various people who may be particularly able to benefit. Art Link is active in numerous institutions in the West Midlands including many hospitals in the region, mostly helping the elderly, disabled, mentally ill and mentally handicapped people. The work is of a therapeutic nature but is always valuable at the least for its potential as a stimulus and enrichment to the lives of those who receive it. Nature of support: In 1986 Minority Arts Programme Trustees approved a grant of £562 for a joint Art Link/Coventry Resource and Information Centre (CRIS) photography project for the elderly. That same year £88.75 was allocated for the Community Arts Gathering at the Midlands Arts Centre (MAC). Minutes: MAP 7/86, MAP 27/86, MAP 56/86. Notes: File organised by date from newest to oldest. File not numbered. |
