DescriptionThis envelope contains transcripts of interviews with Fernhill miners about the 1972 miners' strike.

Transcript 110 provides a description of the 'Saltley Gate' pickets as well as True's efforts in Southampton to promote the miners' cause, including speaking to students at King Alfred's College. A discussion of the significance of the National Power Loading Agreement [NPLA] to miners is also noted.

111 continues consideration of the NPLA and also provides background to the increased militancy of miners in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

112 provides an insight to miners' experiences, at Dowge Wharf in Newport and in Birmingham. Relations between pickets and lorry drivers are described, as is media coverage of the events at 'Saltley Gate'.
