| Description | This volume contains material relating to Thomas Attwood and his life. There is an index at the front of the volume. The contents include newspaper cuttings about the Birmingham Political Union; engravings of Thomas Attwood; a poem by Mrs Attwood on the death of Thomas Attwood, 1856 (p. 12) ; extracts from Langford's 'A Century of Birmingham Life'; extracts from speeches given to Parliament; extracts from letters of Thomas Attwood, 1803 - 1837; printed pamphlets; autograph signatures; seal impressions; photographs; family trees, etc. There is information on various families connected to the Attwoods (Carless, Minshull, and on William Mathews of Parkfield, founder of the Alpine Club, 1857) and on places connected to the family (The Leasowes, Halesowen, Harborne, Malvern etc).
The volume is large, bound in green leather, with the letters 'C.M.W 2' embossed in gold on the cover. There are 3 loose papers at the front; one loose paper at pp. 94 - 95; 7 loose items at pp. 120 - 121; 5 loose items at pp. 124 - 125; two loose papers at pp. 132 - 133; seal impressions loose at pp. 164 - 165; fifteen items loose at back of volume including an engraving of Robert Peel, printed articles on Thomas Attwood, a poem, letters etc.(19th century - 1983).
