| Description | The majority of these papers concern premises used by the firm of Farmer & Galton as an iron and steel manufactory, in which both James Farmer, and Samuel Galton and his brother John Galton initially owned shares, together with other merchants. Another deed in this section suggests that James Farmer held property in Belbroughton prior to the establishment of iron forges and steel furnaces there, which may also have been utilised by Farmer & Galton. See MS3101/C/D/15/1; letter books of Samuel Galton, for references to the iron and steel manufactory. Deeds relating to these premises are also held at Worcestershire Record Office (ref 705: 658 BA 5467/62i) |
