TitleAbstract of title of Rev Richard Holmden Amphlett to the manor and advowson of Hadzor
LevelFile
Date1823
DescriptionCopy drawn up by Henry Bearcroft, solicitor, of Droitwich for conveyance to John Howard Galton. The abstract traces the descent of the manor and advowson, together with several other farms and cottages in the parishes of Hadzor and St Peter, Droitwich from 1543, when the manor was granted by Henry VIII to Richard Cupper, to 1814. Two thirds of the manor was conveyed to the Amphlett family by Thomas Copley in 1614, with the remaining third acquired by Amphlett in 1633. The abstract documents the acquisition by the Amphletts of further property in the parish during the eighteenth century, and the lease of properties during the Amphlett family's ownership. It also includes details of the enclosure of Hadzor in the 1770s.
