DescriptionThese papers largely consist of deeds, but also include some material relating to the enclosure of land in Hadzor. They comprise: 1745 lease and release of Hempleck, Mary Wood of Droitwich, widow to William Amphlett of Hadzor in trust for the poor and the rector of Hadzor; 1753 papers relating to rent payments; 1762 memorandum of agreement between Rev Thomas Thomas and Dorothy Saunders, widow, in possession of the parsonage and glebe lands of Hadzor, which she will give up to Rev Thomas, and of arable land and land called Hempleck which she rents from William Amphlett; 1777 papers relating to copyhold land of the manor of Himbleton called Saltmoor and Hadzor meadow. Parties include Francis and Thomas Davis, Richard Amphlett, James Nash of Oxford and James Stanton of Himbleton; 1786 proceedings of the court leet and court baron of Himbleton relating to the rights of Francis and Thomas Davis and James Stanton to Saltmoor and Hadzor meadow; 1788 certificate of sale by the 'Commissioners of the land-Revenue' to Richard Holmden Amphlett of Cock Croft in Hadzor; 1799 printed land tax declaration for inheritance of the manor of Hadzor by Richard Holmden Amphlett, together with papers relating to the exemption from land tax on the manor of Hadzor; 1815 lease of land adjoining Hanbury Turnpike road in the parish of St Peter, Droitwich, Bailiffs and Burgesses of Droitwich to Rev Richard Holmden Amphlett. Includes sketch plan of the land concerned.
