| Description | These comprise: copy of the will of Robert Galton, made in 1745 in which he instructs that his debts be paid as quickly as possible, makes monetary bequests to his wife and children, also leaving his wife all his household goods, and appoints his wife and his brother John Galton as executors; bond to make an inventory of the goods of Robert Galton, made between Hannah Galton, widow, John Galton, merchant, John Hill, Simon Draper, and William Whitehaire, barber surgeon, all of Bristol, and Thomas, Archbishop of Canterbury and dated 1748; agreement dated 1754 between Hannah Galton, widow of Robert Galton, and John Galton of Bristol, executors of the will of Robert Galton and the creditors of Robert Galton, following a suit in Chancery between the parties. This agreement releases Hannah Galton and John Galton from responsibility for loss or damage to the estate of Robert Galton. The names of the creditors appear at the bottom of the document. |
