AdminHistoryThe Grey Cock Folk Club was started in 1966 by members of the Birmingham and Midland Folk Centre, and the first public performance was on 26 February 1967.

The club's intention was ' to present traditional folk music of high quality and contemporary work using traditional forms'. Drama, dance and film were included as well as music and song. The club closed in 1987.

Performances which were recorded as part of the Birmingham and Midland Folk Centre tape sequence can be found, with index, in the MS 4000/5/3/5/4 section of the catalogue.

The recordings listed in this section were made by Charles Parker and were found in several of the original boxes of reel to reel tapes.
