| Description | (Tracks 1 - 13) John Podmore, a picket line organiser in the miners trade union, and miner from Maerdy, South Wales, discusses his involvement in, and experiences of, the 1972 miners strike and picketing at the Saltley gasworks. He recites a letter written in support of the miners' cause. He also discusses a television programme, on which he appeared, as well as talking more about his organisational work in other strike movements, giving examples from work in Birmingham. His recounting also includes stories of protesters at Saltley gasworks trying to prevent lorries going in to deliver coal.
