They talk to Philip Donnellan about the industrial rehabilitation of people with visual impairments, their resettlement in their former jobs where possible, and discuss some of the cases they have worked on. They talk about the difficulties in employing people with colour blindness as electricians and methods of resolving the problem, the establishment of workshops for the blind in Scotland and the different focus of welfare and industrial rehabilitation in Scotland. They discuss the work of placement officers in Scotland and the difficulties in convincing local authorities that it was possible to place blind people in open employment and the work of the RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind) in resettlement. Mr Pocock talks about investigations into the suitability of individual workers he is to carry out at different firms in Scotland, the training process undertaken by individual workers, and the importance of labour economics to employers (tracks 1-8).

Interview with Cathy Craig, senior proof reader at the Scottish Braille Press. She talks to Philip Donnellan about her job reading the work of the stereotypers, particularly work in foreign languages for schools and colleges and editing women's magazines for blind readers. She discusses going to university, her hopes of becoming a teacher, being prevented from taking up a place at teacher training college because the school did not want blind teachers, and coming to work on French and German articles at the Braille Press (tracks 9-11).
