Tracks 3-7: one of the teachers describes the Braille system and talks about the necessary thickness of Braille books in comparison to ordinary printed books, because of the use of raised dots. He discusses the decline in the number of children at schools for people with visual impairments, particularly in the south and midlands of the country. He explains about the different types of school, including grammar and technical schools, and talks about the facilities for children at Lickey Grange. He shows Charles Parker the television room, and considers the extent of mixing between the boys and girls at the school, and the gendered activities that they tend to take part in. He explains how the braille writing machine is used and talks about the work that children have made with their pottery teacher. He shows Charles Parker the gym and explains the need for more facilities there. He goes on to talk about being invited to dinner by the older girls who have learnt cooking. He describes some of the meals he has been served, and contrasts the independence of these girls with the restrictive attitudes towards cooking and household activities that their parents have
