Interview with Anthony Lawton from Barnsley and Robert Netherway from Whitestone, students in the engineering workshop. Robert talks about the big changes in his life leaving his family farm and coming to a town to learn engineering. He talks about being partially sighted and having difficulties with hearing. Anthony talks about coming to the engineering workshop from a school for the blind and his first impressions of the workshop. He describes how the machines differ from each other and talks about the items he has made on them. They talk about how they can both see colours but have to operate machines mainly by touch and discuss the settings of the different machines. The teacher, Mr Jago, discusses the use of tools, including the braille micrometer (tracks 2-7).
