DescriptionInterview with H. Kennedy, a child psychologist, and Doris Wills, at the Anna Freud clinic. They talk about the problems associated with segreated education and a film produced by the American Association for the Blind about a blind child going to a school for sighted children, the anxieties of blind children who are sent away from home, the need to look at the special needs and skills of blind children through following their early development, the difficulties that young blind children have in communicating verbally and developing speech, and building up concepts of the world without vision. They talk about the feelings in sighted society that blindness is disturbing but can be covered up, taboos associated with touching people and traditions of the punishment of sexual offences with blinding (tracks 1-3).

They discuss the specific issues relating to blind children in education and play, their tendency to be conformist, and the particular difficulties faced by children without siblings (tracks 4-5). These tracks are recorded at very low levels and parts are inaudible
