DescriptionInterview with H. Kennedy, child psychologist, and Doris Wills, Anna Freud clinic. They talk about the degree of anxiety that blindness arouses in people and how these feelings are reflected in the education and treatment of blind children, the deprivation of blind children who grow up in institutions and the importance of providing children with tools to help them with mobility and orientation. They talk about the need for children to be motivated by doing things that they enjoy to facilitate the learning process, and the socially mixed demographic of the nursery. There is further discussion of modelling and other creative activities for blind and partially sighted children (tracks 1-3).

Interview with Tom Drake, a teacher at Torquay. He discusses assumptions of sighted people that the other senses compensate for the loss of sight, the greater receptiveness of blind people to their other senses, the ability to function without sight in a sighted world, the dying of a personality when someone loses their sight and a new person born through rehabilitation, with different ways of behaviour, the development of new skills as a struggle, feelings of embarrassment and difficulties in adjusting after losing sight, loss of sight conceived death and rebirth (tracks 4-6)
