Interview with Alex McIntosh. He talks about the history of Derry and some of its landmarks, and recites the names of some of the Apprentice boys of the 1688-1689 period who were involved in the siege of Derry and the battle of the Boyne in 1690. He reads a certificate marking enrolement in the Apprentice Boys Club and explains the symbolism of the Club artefacts. James Crawford talks about the initiation process into the Apprentice Boys organisation which must take place within the walls of Derry, explains the origins of the 'No Surrender' slogan which was used during the siege and the events of the period, and talks about Derry as a 'maiden city' and its relief on 12th August. The two men talk about Black Perceptory order, the Orange Order bands and the instruments and music used, the lambeg drums and their popularity in Belfast (tracks 14-22)
