Track 1 features journalist Irwin Solber discussing the role of science education and research in the American war effort, both in implicit and explicit ways. Barbara Dane performs a song commencing 'There is a little haze in the morning air' on Track 2. Written by a draft resister, this song refers to chemical and experimental warfare. Track 3 considers the dilemma of science students, as Daen observes that most contemporary American scientific research is focussed towards military or ecologically damaging results. Dane and Solber consider that the USA has become guilty of genocide through adherence to imperialist policies (Tracks 3 - 4). The impact on the mental health of American soldiers in coping with such knowledge is discussed in Track 4. Track 5 considers student and other civilian protests occurring an introduction is given to the song 'Insubordination' although this is not performed (see following catalogue entry).
