She attempts to describe her own social position, defines herself as middle class, and discusses the class system in India. She talks about her sympathy for the family's servants and other poor people, but does not know what can be done to improve their living conditions, and discusses the differences between her political views and those of her parents who are more inclined to accept social inequality. She talks about her belief in the tradition of arranged marriage and considers that people in the west also often marry for convenience because romantic love does not last. She goes on to discuss the extent to which young men and women socialise based on the feelings and experiences of herself and her friends, and the effects that attending a girls convent school has had on her (tracks 1-6).
