AdminHistoryMade for broadcast on BBC Radio 4. This programme was previously named 'White Settlers'. Dilip Hiro interviewed British, European and American settlers in post Independence India in 1971, mainly living in Calcutta and Bombay, the majority of whom were married to Indian men or women. Charles Parker worked on the production of the programme, but the associated paper files do not indicate whether it was broadcast. The fact that only the actuality recordings and edited clips and inserts survive in this collection suggest that it was not.
