Mrs Kaur speaks about how her children prefer to speak English rather than Punjabi. The couple discuss their son's understanding of the Sikh faith. The couple discuss their children's circle of friends who are all white. They discuss how Mrs Kaur's life has changed since she came to Britain with reference to becoming a shop steward for a trade union. They discuss whether there is enough coverage of Sikh and Indian topicsin mainstream schools. Mrs Kaur talks about her own education in India, and speaks about her arranged marriage, with reference to their plans for their own children and whether they would want their children to marry non-Sikh people. Mr Singh speaks about his working experiences when he arrived in Britain leading up to owning his own business in Birmingham. Mr Singh talks about what he thinks the typical poor Indian family's attitude to education is. The couple's teenage daughter joins the discussion from track 11 and describes her school. She talks about being the only non-white student and the family discuss racism she encountered at school.
