She talks about being housed by Greater London Council (the GLC) and describes the people that live in Gayton House in Poplar, with reference to a lack of a feeling of community in the high rise flats.
Tracks 8 - 14: Actuality with a young girl that lives in Bow East London, Kathleen Martin, and Charles Parker. Martin speaks about being bullied at school. She describes the silverfish infestation in the housing that she lives in and talks about how she does not like the area she lives in. From track 9 an adult male joins the interview and speaks about the low quality of the recently built housing in Bethnal Green. Martin tells Parker what she knows about the history of Tower Hamlets. Martin talks about trips that she makes with her parents and with school, and describes what sort of teachers she likes. Rene Sams rejoins the discussion from track 12, she is Martin's mother and she talks about selecting a secondary school for her daughter. Martin talks about the sports and subjects that she likes to do in school. Martin talks about the dredging of the River Thames, and what she knows about how the river is used.
