The young people, all female, are from the East End, including Bethnal Green and Stepney, and are around the ages of 16 to 17 years old. They are mixed ethnicities, including Chinese and Kenyan. The group talk about how they came to attend the Central Foundation comprehensive school. They discuss the transition from primary school to secondary school and then to the sixth form. They talk about which subjects they are studying, and about the careers they hope to follow. They talk about the lack of reading skills that the younger classes in their school have.
