This recording continues Charles Parker's interviews of Phil Belcher and Arthur Pullen in Redditch. The impact of expenditure reductions in schools and other services is discussed. Wastage by public authorities is identified and Hereford and Worcester County Council receives criticism for its new headquarters at Nunnery Wood, as well as specific expenditure decisions (Tracks 4 -6). Redditch Action Committee (formed by Redditch Trades Council) is referred to (Track 7). The composition of NUPE's Redditch Branch is discussed (Tracks 9 -10) and observations are made about the effectiveness of some of the union's paid officials (Tracks 13 -14). The 1976 Day of Action organised by NUPE's Redditch Branch is described (Track 11). Negotiations with Redditch District Council over new methods of refuse collection are discussed (Tracks 8 & 12). Politicians' views about the comprehensive education system are reported (Track 14).
