| Description | Tracks 1 - 9
This is a recording taken at a meeting of Birmingham Area Health Authority on 27 October 1977. This may have been undertaken without the knowledge of the Chairman, John Bettinton and the sound quality is poor and many conversations are indistinct.
The clearest track of this recording is Track 4, which details an interruption of the meeting by protesters from the National Abortion Campaign. Yvonne Taylor of the Birmingham branch called for out-patient abortion services to be provided by the NHS in the city, and drew attention to the forthcoming national demonstration to be held in Birmingham.
The general business of the meeting includes a discussion of problems in Liverpool which may have lessons for health services in Birmingham (Track 1), the condition of Birmingham Accident Hospital (Tracks 1 - 3 & 9) and Birmingham Dental Hospital (Track 5).
