TitlePoetry scrapbook belonging to Elizabeth Taylor
LevelItem
Date1868 - 1874
DescriptionThis small volume contains poems, images, psalms and examples of dried flowers collected by Elizabeth Taylor. Some of the poems are written in English, others in French, providing examples of Elizabeth Taylor's early writing. A number of poems written by Elizabeth's school friends in Saxe-Meiningen and her relatives also feature in the book alongside images of people, horses, dogs and ducks. A large photograph of Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's husband George Cadbury is enclosed at the back of the volume. It is possible that this was inserted at a later date than the other images and poems.
