| Description | Elizabeth describes a Church service which the girls had just returned from, paraphrasing the message of the sermon. Elizabeth notes that the school in Saxe-Meiningen had bought a small disused inn which was in the mountains near to the school. The inn had a dancing hall and a garden where the girls could play croquet. Elizabeth notes that the girls who stayed in Germany over the school holidays would also be able to live at the inn which was to be renamed 'Villa Britannia'.
Elizabeth describes her fun using a sewing machine and playing the piano whilst the other girls were having their breakfasts. She concludes her letter by asking her parents to bring her poetry album to her in Saxe-Meiningen and asks after her Pomeranian dog Oliver Twist. |
