| Description | In this letter Mary Taylor apologises for the delay in sending letters and money to Margaret and Elizabeth and gives them permission to participate in singing lessons. She writes that the girls' sisters Annie Frances and Josephine were very pleased with letters which they had received from their elder sisters. Mary Taylor also remarks on the ill-health of the girls' uncle and the funeral of a family friend. Towards the end of the letter Mary Taylor reveals her concerns about her husband John Taylor, writing to Margaret and Elizabeth that their father was 'overworking himself just now & is not well'. She concludes with remarks about Elizabeth's progress in music lessons. |
