| Description | This section contains examples of Elizabeth Taylor's school work produced whilst she was attending the 'Tochter-Institut & Pensionat' in Saxe-Meiningen and the North London Collegiate School. Arithmetic and Latin exercises feature here alongside examples of composition, as well as a number of longer essays written on historical subjects such as castles in Germany and the Tower of London. The section also contains essays about the history of architecture, a biography of William Shakespeare and composition exercises relating to contemporary events such as the Regent's Canal barge explosion in 1874. Annotations on one document suggest that Elizabeth Taylor may have intended to submit some of the essays which she wrote about her personal experiences for publication.
Please note that many of these documents are undated, making it difficult to identify at which school the pieces of work were produced. |
