| Title | Letter from Elizabeth Mary Taylor to Elizabeth Pettifer Lucas Cash |
| Level | Item |
| Date | 31 July 1874 |
| Description | In this letter Elizabeth Taylor writes that her grandmother's spectacles had been found in the nursery at the Taylor family's home in Peckham Rye. She describes recent family activities, including a trip to the dentist and to the Royal Academy in London. Elizabeth apologises for her untidy handwriting, adding that it was because her dog Twist had been sitting on her lap whilst she was writing her letter. Elizabeth remarks that Twist was growing old and ill. She writes that she feared he would 'soon follow poor Hero', his father, who had recently died. Twist's father Hero had belonged to Elizabeth's aunt Caroline Barrow (nee Cash). |
