| Description | Elizabeth Taylor (nee Cash) was the sister of Elizabeth Taylor's mother Mary Taylor. She married Joseph Taylor, the brother of Elizabeth's father John Taylor. This letter was written to Margaret and Elizabeth Taylor whilst they were at school in Saxe-Meiningen in Germany just before their first Christmas away from home. In the letter Elizabeth Taylor wishes her nieces a happy Christmas and refers to recent family activities. She also remarks on the wedding of the girls' aunt Caroline Cash to George Barrow of Birmingham and her son, the girls' cousin Theodore's return home from school. Elizabeth Taylor also refers to her daughter, Margaret and Elizabeth's cousin Una Taylor, and remarks how much the girls' brothers and sisters had grown since they had been in Germany. |
