AdminHistoryElizabeth Taylor Cadbury met Lily Davey in 1884 whilst attending meetings of the Evangelical Movement in London led by two American evangelists, Lyman Dwight Moody (1837-1899) and Ira David Sankey (1840-1908). These popular evangelistic meetings featured preaching and singing which was led by a large choir. Both Elizabeth Taylor and Lily Davey sang in this choir together. Described by Scott as a life-long friend of Taylor Cadbury, Lily Davey also travelled to Paris with Elizabeth Taylor in 1885, staying with her for a short time whilst she was working at a Protestant mission in Belleville.
