LevelItem
Date03 March 1946
DescriptionIn this address Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury describes the work of the Queen Elizabeth hospital which opened in Birmingham in 1938. She refers to the damage caused to Birmingham's General Hospital during the bombing raids of the Second World War and the work of the Queen Elizabeth during this period which provided medical care for patients from damaged hospitals. She remarks that 'the medical and nursing profession' recognised no 'national frontiers', treating patients of all nationalities.

Taylor Cadbury appeals for financial support to provide more accommodation for nursing staff and cancer patients at the hospitals, emphasising that following the end of the War the hospitals relied on voluntary donations.

In the two copies of this address Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury repeats her contact details twice, directing people to send any donations directly to her and noting that any contribution would be gratefully acknowledged.
