DescriptionThis particularly notable newscutting records the discovery that Dame Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury had been named on a list of British citizens to be arrested by German forces if their invasion of Britain had succeeded in 1940. Responding to her appearance on the list compiled by the Nazi Gestapo, the newscutting records that Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury had been surprised, stating 'why the Germans should include the name of one of a family descended from the Quakers - who are opposed to militaristic ideas - I do not know'.
