DateJune 1930
DescriptionAnnotations on the first page of this address state that it was sent by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury to the National Press Agency to feature as part of a series called 'Modern Youth Will Make Good'.

Taylor Cadbury's address defends 'modern youth' against criticism, suggesting that young people were 'playing their part in trying to solve the many problems of the age'. Taylor Cadbury emphasises that although young people were different from her own generation, they were not inferior.

Taylor Cadbury refers to her own Quaker upbringing as one which had given her 'independence' and 'more freedom' than her non-Quaker peers. She goes on to compare the greater freedom of opportunity in sports, reading and politics available to girls in the 1930s with those of her own generation.

Taylor Cadbury concludes her address advocating that in this 'marvellous age of discovery and invention' young people must remember to cultivate the spiritual part of their nature.
