| Description | In this letter Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury remarks on proceedings at the International Council of Women's Liaison Committee with special reference to the work of the Peace Committee. She remarks that 'women stand by the Covenant of the League of Nations, and are working whole-heartedly for Peace'. Taylor Cadbury refers to an address given to the Assembly by the British Foreign Minister and efforts by the Peace Committee and National Councils 'to proclaim their belief that only united action can save civilisation'. A postscript to the letter refers to arrangements for a women's 'Prayer for Peace' event to be held on 20th October 1935. The event aimed to remind women, wives and mothers 'that the protection and preservation of life is their own special duty and responsibility'. |
