DescriptionThis section provides an insight into Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's involvement with the International Council of Women immediately before her visit to India in 1936 when she represented the British delegation of the International Council. The section contains correspondence written by Taylor Cadbury relating to her attendance at the International Council of Women's Liaison Committee held in Geneva in September 1935. Taylor Cadbury's letters include details about proceedings at the meeting, emphasising particularly the subject 'of Peace', with reference to the Covenant of the League of Nations amidst the growing threat of conflict during this period. Taylor Cadbury also refers to arrangements for the women's Prayer for Peace event in October 1935 and the World Congress of Youth to be held during 1936. The section also contains papers relating to the National Council of Women in India in relation to Taylor Cadbury's visit to the country in January 1936.
