| Description | William H. Tandy wrote this letter to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury to thank her again for her donation towards the purchase of a travelling dispensary and ambulance for the Friends' Hospital in Itarsi.
In his letter, which provides a more detailed insight into the hospital's work, Tandy remarks how much the new vehicle was appreciated, noting that it had 'caused something of a sensation in the district'. Tandy provides a detailed description of the development of the ambulance and dispensary which could accommodate over twelve people as well as medical supplies. He suggests that the dispensary which was 'labelled in English on one side and in Hindi on the other' would prove of 'immense value' in the district.
Alongside his letter Tandy enclosed a copy of a minute from a meeting of the Itarsi Hospital Committee recorded earlier that month which acknowledged the value of Taylor Cadbury's gift. |
