| Description | In this letter Shephard sends Christmas greetings to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury and remarks on having recently met with Dr. William Tandy and his wife Molly. Taylor Cadbury was associated with Tandy through her work supporting the Friends' Hospital at Itarsi. Shephard writes that she had seen 'the lovely Travelling Dispensary' which Taylor Cadbury had donated to the hospital. She also comments on the philanthropic work of other women including Hilda Cashmore who was doing 'pioneer' work towards the development of educational opportunities for Indian students at the Resulia Settlement. Shephard writes that her sister was coming to stay with her in India after losing her home. She also remarks on the political and economic situation in Europe suggesting 'it will be easier for us to be poor together in this sunshiney land than poor apart - especially as Europe seems to be going to crash'. She concludes her letter with remarks about her work with the Delhi Children's Aid Society. |
