DescriptionThis section contains a variety of newscuttings relating to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's participation in the World Congress of the International Council of Women (World Conference of Women) and her experiences and impressions of India. Press reports announcing the World Congress are featured alongside newscuttings relating to the All-India Women's Conference, a similar event which was held in December 1935.

Many of the newscuttings feature detailed accounts of proceedings at the World Congress of the International Council of Women with summaries of contributions made by international delegates. The newscutting provide an overview of the subjects considered during the Congress which included housing, public health, education, child marriage, women and politics, international relations and the medical inspection of school children. A number of newscuttings provide details about Taylor Cadbury's return to England in February 1936 and accounts of the reception held for British delegates to the Indian conferences by the Women's Advisory Council on Indian Affairs. Remarks relating to Taylor Cadbury's impressions of India feature throughout these newscuttings, many noting her view of the importance of education in the country's future development and the 'bonds of soul and spirit' which united British and Indian women 'with a common purpose'.
