DescriptionThis small leatherette covered volume is a Walker's diary for the year 1910. The front pages of the diary feature a calendar which has been annotated with ink lines in some places. The diary includes daily entries written by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury in ink. These entries vary in length and detail. Each page features a box entitled 'memo' which has been used by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury to continue details relating to daily events or left blank. A number of items are enclosed loose between the pages of this diary. These include a blank piece of paper, a small piece of card printed with the address of the Manor House and a piece of paper entitled '1910' which features notes made in pencil by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury relating to correspondence which she had received. A calling card printed with the details of Mrs. and Miss Rushbrook and annotated with address details in ink is also enclosed. Pages at the back of the diary entitled 'Memoranda' feature a number of notes made in ink by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury, including details of a menu and what may be short plans for public addresses which Taylor Cadbury was preparing. These brief notes include key words such as 'Housing' and 'Poor Law' and phrases including 'Teach not a road to self advance but good of the state'. A printed colour advertisement for 'General Accident Fire and Life Assurance Corporation Ltd.' is attached to the last page of the diary.
