DescriptionThis letter was sent by Elizabeth and George Cadbury shortly after their arrival in Rome. Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury begins the letter remarking that Rome was 'overwhelming' in terms of its history and the amount of sights which she wished to see. She describes the couple's journey to Rome which had included travelling through Geneva and stopping in Florence for some sightseeing. She also provides an account of their activities following their arrival in Rome, noting visits to places of interest such as the Holy Stairs and the Colloseum. A few lines from George Cadbury remarking on the cold weather in Florence feature at the end of the letter.
