DescriptionA Memorial Service was held for Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury in Bournville at 3pm on Sunday 16th December 1951. The service was led by Dr. Herbert George Wood, a close friend of Taylor Cadbury's who succeeded Dr. Rendel Harris as Director of Studies at Woodbrooke. Wood also supported Taylor Cadbury in her work as Birmingham City Councillor and President of the Federal Council of the Free Churches during the early 1920s. Children from the Bournville Village Schools attended the Memorial Service and sang hymns with the City of Birmingham choir. The Bishop of Birmingham, Reverend E. W. Barnes, led prayers and Reverend N. S. Moon, President of Birmingham Free Church Federal Council, read the Lesson. An address was delivered by Sir Norman Birkett at the end of the service, followed by the hymn 'The Lord is my Shepherd'.

The programme states that a recital would be played on the Bournville Carillon by Clifford Ball following the service.
