| Description | In this short postcard George Newman informs Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury that he had read her book 'Historical Rhymes' which had been privately published in 1937. He comments on his particular interest in Taylor Cadbury's memoirs of the Taylor family and her marriage to George Cadbury contained within the book. Newman's postcard suggests that he had been amongst Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's guests whilst she was on a family holiday in Bordighera. Newman writes that he could see the Cadbury family's hotel from where he was staying, remarking that during the evenings he could see 'a long shaft of moonlight on the sea & you at the end of it'.
Two French stamps feature on the reverse of this postcard. |
