TitleLetter from Sir Raymond Priestley to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury
LevelItem
Date08 November 1943
DescriptionSir Raymond Priestley wrote to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury in November 1943 regarding a broadcast which Taylor Cadbury had written and sent to Priestley for approval. Priestley thanks Taylor Cadbury for allowing him the opportunity to read her paper and suggests that it would be 'equally apposite to the days after the war.' Taylor Cadbury's paper concerned contemporary educational issues, Priestley remarking on her references to the importance of 'holiday travel' in education. He comments 'I wish even more of our lads & lasses would be more adventurous in their holidays'. Priestley identifies similarities between his own education and that experienced by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury, writing 'I should like to think that mine had had as good & as worth while a result.'

In a postscript to his letter Priestley notes that he was travelling to Cambridge University the following day to deliver a lecture before going to the Orkneys and Shetland Isles later in the month to lecture to the British Navy.
