TitleLetter from Sir Oliver Lodge to George Cadbury and Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury
LevelItem
Date20 September 1915
DescriptionIn this short letter Lodge comments on the 'slaughter' of 'young fellows' involved in military conflict during the First World War. Responding to a letter of sympathy sent by George and Elizabeth Cadbury, Lodge remarks on the death of a young man who he describes as having been 'full of life & humour', remarking that 'the family is very broken about it'. It is probable that the young man referred to was Lodge's youngest son Raymond who was killed in Flanders in 1915.
