| Description | This notebook features columns for entering the titles of books, details about their authors and additional notes. Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury began writing entries into the notebook in April 1931 recording brief notes about books she had read, such as 'too long' or 'v. amusing'. The titles listed reveal that Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury read a large number of fictional books including 'Sense and Sensibility' by Jane Austen which she notes that she had read whilst on holiday in Ireland in August 1931. Many murder mystery books including numerous titles by Agatha Christie are also listed alongside non-fictional texts such as biographies and histories. The entries end in June 1948 with a number of pages remaining blank at the end of the notebook. |
