| Description | Louise was the daughter of Elizabeth Taylor's uncle Frederick Goodall Cash and her aunt Martha who lived in Gloucester. Elizabeth had grown close to her cousins in the Goodall Cash family after living with them for a short period when she was nine years old. One of her cousins, Mabel Goodall Cash, married John Henry Barlow in 1883. Barlow later became the Secretary of the Bournville Village Trust, appointed by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's husband George Cadbury.
In this letter Louise sends her best wishes to her cousin Elizabeth on the occasion of her twenty-first birthday, adding the 'dear love' of her sister Gertrude and also her father and mother. She writes that she would like to see the holiday journal which Elizabeth had kept to document her recent travels in Europe. She remarks on the wet weather and recent family activities which included a weekend picnic. She also comments on her sister Gertrude's health which was much improved. Louise concludes her letter by sending her love to all of Elizabeth Taylor's 'birthday visitors'. |
