| Description | This small card states that Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury received seventy eight presents on her ninetieth birthday. In addition she received thirty four cards, one hundred and ninety letters and one hundred and sixty six telegrams. In total Taylor Cadbury received four hundred and sixty eight items commemorating her birthday. However, the card states that a number of cards had been sent with presents and letters and an additional five letters had arrived some time after Elizabeth's birthday, suggesting that this figure may have been higher.
The reverse of this card reveals a printed invitation which was issued by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury to members of staff at the Cadbury factory in Bournville and their families and also students at the Selly Oak Colleges, inviting them to an afternoon garden party on Wednesday 30th June 1948 to celebrate her ninetieth birthday. |
