Date24 June 1948
DescriptionThis newscutting from 'The Star' records that the Post Office at Northfield, Birmingham, had been forced to call for extra staff to handle the huge volume of telegrams which were being sent to congratulate Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury on her ninetieth birthday. The article records that Taylor Cadbury had received 'a constant stream of deputations bringing congratulations, flowers and gifts' on the special occasion, including gifts from the many organisations with which she was associated 'during a public career that she still continues at 90.'

The report describes the 'birthday cake covered with chocolate and decorated with marzipan roses' which was sent to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury by employees at the Cadbury factory in Bournville.
