| Title | Letters from William and Hannah Wilson |
| Level | Series |
| Date | 1894 - 1905 |
| Description | Following the marriage of his father (Richard Cadbury) to Emma Wilson, William Adlington Cadbury presumably formed a close relationship with her brother and his wife (William and Hannah Wilson). In 1902 William Adlington Cadbury married their daughter Emmeline Wilson. Most of the early letters are from travels or the mission the Wilsons ran in Madagascar. In 1902 William Wilson accepted the post of secretary of the Friends Foreign Missions Association and from this point on, with the family relatively near to each other, there was less need to send correspondence. As secretary trips to China, Syria and a return to Madagascar were made by the Wilsons between 1903 and 1909. (See Administrative History for further details.) |
