AdminHistoryAlthough the actual date of Bournville's Golden Jubilee, marking fifty years since the foundation of the Bournville Village Trust, was in December 1950, celebrations were postponed until June 1951 to coincide with the Festival of Britain. The celebrations began on 24th June 1951, which was also the date of Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's ninety-third birthday. They included an exhibition held at Minworth Greaves in Bournville which was opened by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham. The annual Bournville Village Children's Festival marked the end of the week long festivities with Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury in attendance.
